Czechoslovak Spartakiades (5)

Czechoslovak Spartakiades by Julius Chvalny.  Hardcover book published by Orbis Press Agency, Prague.  Text is in Russian, English, German, French and Spanish.

A tide of more than 100,000 cheering and happy young gymnasts flood the capital of Czechoslovakia during the giant Spartikiade parade

Health and optimism are revealed in the faces of women and girls in the Spartikiade parade on Wencelas Square in the centre of Prague

The arms of girl gymnasts seem to create a lovely rosette growing out of the masterful blending of movement

The unique gymnastic display put on by the soldiers could not be spoiled even by heavy downpours which fell on two performances of 13,824 real men!

Even in a heavy downpour on the muddy field the girls did not lose their vitality and smiles
